I had so much fun with this shoot, he is just too precious!  My sister (my assistant for the weekend) and I traveled to Knoxville to photograph little Oliver  and luckily they had beautiful hard wood floors in their bedroom with a big floor to ceiling window which is sooo ideal for a shoot like this  Now I just need to finish his birth announcement.  Enjoy!!

Ok, so I know this post is a little late….but I was going through my archives and I completely forgot to post this shoot!  I shot this back in October for their Christmas card, but I didn’t want to post it before Christmas because I didn’t want to ruin the surprise.  I know you’re wondering if I really put 1/2 of a dog in the pool with a sign tied to his body…the answer is YES and I wish you could have seen the chaos.  To prep for the shoot I rented an underwater case for my 5d Mark II and then had the signs made.  I designed them in photoshop and then took them to Kinkos to have them printed.  They key to not having the water ruin them was to have them laminated, but I requested for them to keep about a 4-5 inch lip around the sign to seal it shut, then I duck taped the extra to the back.  Once we actually got in the water we had a problem with the boys floating to the top of the pool, so we brought the weights from the gym out and put them in the pool to anchor themselves down with.  We shot this in October at my parents house…even though I had them heat that sucker up to about 80 degrees, I still had purple lips by the time we were done.  It was worth it because we had this awesome tri-fold card at the end of it!  I can’t wait to see what we end up doing next year

Jake and I had a lot of fun during this session….as you can see.  I asked him mom what he liked to do, etc and she said that basically he liked NOT wearing clothes.  So I said OK, I can work with that and this is what I came up with.  This hangs as a 20×30 in their home, I can’t wait until he’s older and his girlfriends sees this
