A Note From Jess.
Hello friends and welcome to my little piece of sunshine. This fun and whimsical place highlights my recent sessions of newborns, babies, kids and dogs. I'm located in Atlanta, but I'm always looking for an excuse to travel :) Whether you're a pro or an amateur I offer different workshops throughout the year...you'll also see the occasional shooting tip here too! If you would like to reserve a session or have any questions click the contact button below. There's always something cute and cuddly to look at here so I hope you stop by again tomorrow.

I never have time to sit around and play with textures and actions in photoshop, but since I’m in Montreal on a short vacation I decided to have a little fun in Lightroom and Photoshop. Â We actually ate at the little restaurant in the picture the night before and I saw the cute pots by the window and decided to take a picture the next day. Â The image without being touched is very flat and slightly boring, but I love how there is a plant missing, so I decided to see how I could make this image more interesting. Â The first thing I did was make some adjustments to the image in Lightroom. Â I boosted the blacks, contrast, clarity, and saturation, then added a vignette. Â After I did that I opened the image in Photoshop and played around with a few of my black and white actions and decided to use the grainy b&w…one of the steps in that action plays with the saturation which gives the image a brown tone. Â Even thought the image had some texture from the grain, I wanted more so I used a photograph of a stone wall and put it on top of my image making sure I used the overlay tab to make it slightly transparent. Â I still wasn’t super excited about the image so I put it back in Lightroom and boosted all of the settings again adding some Fill Light this time and another vignette…Voila!
